Cal State San Bernardino senior golf standout Taylor Hood was selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week forĀ  Oct. 14-20.

The graduate of Corona Santiago, who began his college career at Cal State Monterey Bay, played lights-out golf on the par-72, 6806-yard Black Horse Golf Course. He fired a third-round best 67 to tie for the Otter Invitational title.

Nova Southeastern’s Richard Mansell, who also finished first in stroke play, won the tournament in a playoff with a birdie on the par-4, 535-yard No. 1.

Hood shot rounds of 69, 66, and 67 to finish with a six-under 210 for the tournament. His 66 is the best for the program since former Coyote Kevin Bateman fired a six under-par 70 in the opening round of the 2011 Coyote Classic
