Quincy Brewer earns 200th win as SBVC coach

Quincy Brewer concluded 2015 with victory No. 200 as the head coach of the San Bernardino Valley men’s basketball program, following the 71-66 win over LA Harbor in Quincy Brewerthe Imperial Valley Tournament Championship Game on Dec. 30.

Brewer has been the coach of the program for seven and a half years.

The team has won its last eight games and sit at 19-2 overall as of Jan. 2, 2016.

The Wolverines are scheduled to begin Foothill Conference play on Jan. 9 at home against Victor Valley College.

SBVC men’s basketball holds off Saddleback

Men’s BasketballSAN BERNARDINO VALLEY 63, SADDLEBACK 60 >> Brandon Jolley scored 20 points and had nine rebounds for the Wolverines (8-0) in the Palomar Tournament semifinal victory over the Gauchos (7-1). Robert Lewis contributed to the Wolverines with 14 points while Perris Hicks added 10 points and eight assists. SBVC will play in the tournament championship game at 5 p.m. today.
REDLANDS 73, PACIFIC 58 >> Wyatt Pannabecker and Reed Hopkins scored 13 points apiece for the Bulldogs (2-1) in the non-conference victory against the Boxers. Joey Sponheim added 11 points with five rebounds and four assists against the Boxers. Redlands will play at 2 p.m. today against Linfield College.
Women’s Basketball

AUSTIN 62, REDLANDS 61 >> Jade Cheledlin scored 15 points and had three rebounds for the Bulldogs (2-3) in the UC Santa Cruz Thanksgiving Classic loss to the Kangaroos. Redlands will play at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday against Biola.
CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO 70, DOMINICAN 68 >> Chelsea Austin had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Coyotes (3-1) in the UC San Diego Tritons Invitational victory over the Penguins. Adriana Brodie and Brianna Harden each contributed with 11 points for the Coyotes. CS San Bernardino will play at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday against Cal State East Bay in CCAA play.
PUGET SOUND 76, CLAREMONT-MUDD-SCRIPPS 67 >> Alyson Young scored 19 points and had eight rebounds for the Athenas (4-1) in the David Wells Classic loss to the Loggers. Jai Dungca contributed with 16 points in the loss. CMS will play at 2 p.m. Saturday against Westmont.
