A brief Jon Rheault update.

Jon Rheault is still in an NHL training camp.

That’s testament
enough to how far Rheault has come since he was in a Reign uniform when
the last ECHL regular season ended in April.

The test for Rheault, as he attempts to land a job with the Calgary Flames, is about to get tougher.

From calgaryflames.com:

As teams trim rosters head coach Brent Sutter said the test for younger players like T.J. Brodie, Greg Nemisz, Brett Sutter and Jon Rheault becomes even greater.

“The pace changes,” said Sutter.

The coach made no bones about it — the young players still in training
camp are pushign for positions and there is an opportunity for them to
push a veteran to the sidelines.

“They are all right there,” said Sutter. “It’s a great thing to have
difficult decisions. These are decisions that were not there a year
ago.”

Rheault is listed on the probable roster for tonight’s preseason game between the Flames and Phoenix Coyotes.
