CIF-SS football playoff scenario outline

With this, the final week of the prep football regular season, I’d thought I’d take a look at the playoff scenarios in the various leagues

By Division, with each league’s guaranteed berths in parentheses

INLAND DIVISION
1 at-large berth available
BASELINE LEAGUE (3)
Rancho Cucamonga and Upland play, with the winner going as the No. 1, the loser going as No. 2.
Etiwanda and Los Osos play, with the winner going as the No. 3, and the loser hoping for a wild-card.
CITRUS BELT LEAGUE (3)
Redlands East Valley (5-4, 4-0) is the only team guaranteed to be in, but the Wildcats could go as a No. 1, 2 or 3. Redlands (4-5, 3-1), Eisenhower (7-2, 3-1) and Yucaipa (5-4, 2-2) are vying for the final two automatic spots. If Eisenhower beats REV and Redlands beats Yucaipa, then it’s a 3-way tie for first. All 3 get in, and coin flips would break the tie. If REV beats Ike, then Redlands would be the No. 2 and Ike the No. 3 if Redlands beats Yucaipa. But if REV and Yucaipa win, then Redlands, Ike and Yucaipa would be tied for second, requiring a tie-breaker. If Ike and Yucaipa win, then Ike goes as the No. 1, REV as the No. 2, and Yucaipa as the No. 3.
EASTERN DIVISION
2 at-large berths available
SAN ANDREAS LEAGUE (3)
San Gorgonio is the league’s No. 1 playoff entry
Carter is the league’s No. 2 playoff entry
Rialto and San Bernardino play, the winner gets the league’s No. 3 playoff entry
DESERT SKY LEAGUE (3)
Victor Valley, Burroughs and Silverado are all in the playoffs
Victor Valley hosts SIlverado Thursday. If Victor Valley wins, the Jackrabbits get the league’s No. 1 spot, Burroughs is No. 2 and Silverado is No. 3. If Silverado wins, it’s a 3-way tie for first and coin flips would be necessary.
MOJAVE RIVER LEAGUE (2)
Three teams: Serrano (8-1, 3-0), Oak Hills (8-1, 3-1) and Apple Valley (7-2, 2-1) are  vying for the two automatic berths, although third place would have a strong case for the playoffs. Apple Valley plays Serrano. If Serrano wins, Serrano is No. 1, Oak Hills No. 2, and Apple Valley No.3. If Apple Valley wins, it’s a three-way tie and coin flips would be needed.
CENTRAL DIVISION
1 at-large berth available
MT. BALDY LEAGUE (3)
Colony, Chino and Chaffey are all in. Chaffey is the No. 3, and the winner between Colony and Chino will get No. 1, with the loser going as the No. 2.
SUNKIST LEAGUE (3)
Kaiser is the No. 1 team and Summit is the No. 2, but three other teams are technically alive for the other automatic spot.
If Colton (4-5, 2-2) beats Fontana (3-6, 1-3), the Yellowjackets are in. If Colton loses, then Grand Terrace (4-5, 2-2) can get in with a win against Kaiser. If Colton and Grand Terrace both lose. then it is a three-way tie, requiring the league’s tiebreaker.
EAST VALLEY DIVISION
2 at-large berths
AMBASSADOR LEAGUE (3)
Western Christian (9-0, 4-0), Linfield Christian (5-4, 3-1) and Ontario Christian (6-3, 3-1) are all in.
If Western Christian beats Ontario Christian, then Western Is No. 1, Linfield is No. 2 and OC is No. 3. If OC and Linfield (vs. 4-5, 1-3 Aquinas) win, then it is a 3-way tie for 1st, requiring a tie-breaker. If OC wins and Linfield loses, then OC goes as the No. 1, Western No. 2, and Linfield as the No. 3.
DE ANZA LEAGUE (3)
Big Bear (7-2, 4-0) is in as the No. 1.
Four teams are tied for second, but this week is actually very simple.
Twentynine Palms (3-6, 2-2) plays Yucca Valley (7-2, 2-2) and Shadow Hills (5-4, 2-2) plays Desert Hot Springs (2-7, 2-2). The winners of those two games are in the playoffs. With No. 2 and No. 3 determined by head-to-head. Yucca Valley should still have a decent shot at an at-large even with a loss.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY LEAGUE (3)
This scenario is identical to the De Anza.
Jurupa Hills (7-2, 4-0) is in as the No. 1.
The four teams tied for second all play each other. Banning (4-5, 2-2) is at Citrus Valley (4-5, 2-2) and Rim of the World (6-3, 2-2) is at Rubidoux (4-5, 2-2). The winners are in, with No. 2 and No. 3 order determined by head-to-head. Rim would seemingly still have a decent shot as an at-large.
