Next week’s prep football matchups

Here is the schedule for next week’s games. Home teams have been determined and these are likely sites for the games. There are at least 2 all-county matchups: Upland-Redlands and Jurupa Hills-Citrus Valley. In addition, if Big Bear wins Saturday, the Bears would play at Ontario Christian.

INLAND DIVISION
Vista Murrieta at Norco
Charter Oak vs. Rancho Cucamonga at Los Osos HS
Upland at Redlands
Corona Centennial at Murrieta Valley

First-round CIF-SS football playoff results

OK, here we go, with Friday night’s scores — some surprises and some expected. San Bernardino County teams in bold.

Biggest surprise? Summit’s loss. Second biggest surprise? Not that Redlands won, but how the Terriers ran over Chino Hills. “Upset” that I wasn’t surprised by? Jurupa Hills beating Fillmore.

INLAND DIVISION
Vista Murrieta 34, South Hills 6
Norco 50, Redlands East Valley 22
Rancho Cucamonga 33, Corona Santiago 17
Charter Oak 24, Chaparral 14
Upland 35, Great Oak 6
Redlands 55, Chino Hills 27

CIF-SS Central, Inland, Eastern Division brackets

Here are brackets for Central, Inland and Eastern Division. My predictions were close on Inland, only moved Chaparral, Great Oak and Redlands around. Others not so much as I was surprised in Eastern Division that Silverado got in over Apple Valley.

No alternate sites or times available as of yet.

Inland Division
South Hills at No. 1 Vista Murrieta, Norco at Redlands East Valley; Corona Santiago at Rancho Cucamonga; Chaparral at No. 4 Charter Oak; Great Oak at No. 3 Upland, Redlands at Chino Hills; Eisenhower at Murrieta Valley, Los Osos at No. 2 Corona Centennial.

How will CIF-SS Central Division look? My prediction

Here is my last prediction of a division. The Central Division is interesting in that it looks like the 4 seeds will come from 2 leagues. My guess is Paloma Valley will get the at-large over Valley View. If I’m wrong, then everything is changed.

Here we go:

Paloma Valley (7-3) at No. 1 Summit (9-1)
Arlington (6-4) at Chino (8-2)
Chaffey (5-5) at Rancho Verde (7-3)
La Quinta (4-6) at No. 4 Elsinore (7-3)
Desert Valley No. 3 team (don’t know who won tiebreaker) at No. 3 Kaiser (9-1)
Temescal Canyon (5-5) at Palm Springs (8-2)
Colony (6-4) at North (6-4)
Colton (3-7) at No. 2 Heritage (9-1)
