Final: Wizards at Galaxy

Galaxy 1 Wizards 1

The usual lack of offense until late in the game. Then the usual late goals. And the usual Galaxy draw.

The two goals came within three minutes here.

First, Kansas City striker Davy Arnoud tapped in a header by Claudio Lopez who got on the end of a Roger Espinoza cross in the 84th minute.

Then Edson Buddle equalized from about 12 yards after Jack Jewsbury gave the ball away to Demo Kovalenko.

The Galaxy squandered chances in the second half, too.

Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman was required to bring off a great save to defy a 22-yard Chris Klein shot that appeared destined for the top corner of the net in the 82nd minute. A minute later Buddle saw a header bounce off the bar.

That’s five straight ties for the 1-1-9 Galaxy.

More later.
