DeAndre Jordan hopeful loss to Atlanta Hawks will act as a wake-up call

DeAndre Jordan had 15 points,16 rebounds and three blocks in Monday’s 107-98 loss to the Atlanta Hawks

Coach Doc Rivers said his team was “pissed” about losing 107-98 to the soaring Atlanta Hawks (26-8) on Monday. Post DeAndre Jordan, who went for 15 points and 16 rebounds in the defeat, talked about the mood of the team.

“You are a little ticked off when you lose a basketball game,” he said. “You feel like you had the opportunity to win.”

The Clippers (23-12) led by two points at halftime, but were down by eight after three quarters and fell behind by as many as 17 points midway through the fourth. The good thing, Jordan said, is perhaps this will act as a wake-up call of sorts.

“I feel like it should wake us up more and let us know what good basketball teams are doing and how we need to take another step, or two steps, in order to be able to compete at the highest level every night,” he said. “We just need to wake up a little bit and know that everything is around the corner.”
