Five things to take from Clippers’ 126-99 victory over the Sacramento Kings

– First and foremost, Austin Rivers scored a career-high 28 points on 11 of 19 from the field, 5 of 9 from 3-point range. He also had two assists and three steals in his 26 1/2 minutes off the bench. If the 22-year-old Rivers – son of coach Doc Rivers – can see his comfort zone continue to rise, it will be a big deal for the Clippers down the stretch of the regular season.

DeAndre Jordan was on his way to a monster rebounding game. But he took the bench early in the third quarter with his fourth foul and never returned because the starters – save for a brief appearance by Spencer Hawes – were not needed in the fourth quarter of this blowout. Still, Jordan finished with 15 rebounds in just 20 minutes of action. Jordan is averaging a league-high 13.9 rebounds.

– The Clippers played solid defense in this one, limiting the Darren Collison-less Kings to a 34.1 shooting percentage. All-Star DeMarcus Cousins was harassed into a 6-for-19 shooting night.

– Lost just a bit in the hoopla of the game had by Austin Rivers was the one had by J.J. Redick. All he did was score 24 points while making 4 of 6 from 3-point range. He made all eight of his free throws and also had three assists.

Glen “Big Baby” Davis continued to get more playing time off the bench now that Blake Griffin is hurt. He played just about 19 minutes and even though he scored only five points and struggled to make 3 of 9 from the free-throw line, he pulled down eight rebounds and blocked three shots; he also had three assists.
