Clippers go ice-cold in second quarter, trail by 9 at half at Chicago

The Clippers on Thursday night went ice cold in the second quarter and, after leading by a point after the first, they trailed the Chicago Bulls 44-35 at halftime at United Center in Chicago.

The Clippers made only one of their first 19 shots in the second quarter, during which they scored just 11 points. The Clippers shot just 29.8 percent (14 of 47) in the half with the bench making only 2 of 14 from the field.

Starting guards J.J. Redick (1 of 7) and Chris Paul (2 of 7) combined to shoot 3 of 14.

Blake Griffin led the Clippers (13-9) with 12 points and eight rebounds in the half.

Pau Gasol led Chicago (11-8) with 16 points and five rebounds. The Bulls shot 38.1 percent (16 of 42).
