Cal Poly Pomona’s Carlson wins weekly baseball honor

Cal Poly Pomona’s Chris Carlson has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for games March 17-23.

The senior outfielder helped the Broncos to a doubleheader split on Saturday at nationally-ranked Cal Baptist.  

Carlson, a Chino Hills grad, went three-for-six at the plate, knocking two homeruns and collecting four RBI.  He also scored four runs and added two walks for an on-base percentage of .700.
