The Cal State San Bernardino softball team is headed to the postseason for just the second time.

The Coyotes (37-17, 27-13) are the No. 2 seed for the CCAA softball tournament which begins on Friday at Arnaiz Stadium in Stockton. They play No. 3 seed Humboldt State (34-12, 22-11) at 5:30 p.m. in the double elimination event.

The 3 p.m. game on Friday pits top seed Cal State Monterey Bay (42-9, 30-8) against No. 4 Chico State (35-14, 25-13).

The Coyotes went 6-6 against the teams in tournament but did win three of four against Humboldt State.

The Coyotes are led by senior pitcher Cassandra Williams (22-10, 1.54), this week’s CCAA Pitcher of the Week. The Apple Valley native has shattered most of the school’s pitching records.

The offense is led by junior catcher Jessica Brown (.373, 12 HRs, 47 RBIs), a graduate of Alta Loma High School
