Canada 5, USA 4

Quite a game up in Halifax today. They’re still in pool play in the World Championships. Canada took a 3-0 lead early in the second period. USA pulled within 3-2 on Patrick O’Sullivan’s goal 3:09 into the second period, then within 4-3 on Dustin Brown’s power-play goal 5:18 into the third period. O’Sullivan assisted on Brown’s goal, and Brown had an assist earlier in the game. USA tied it 4-4 seven minutes into the third period and Canada scored the winner with 47 seconds remaining when Dany Heatley one-timed a wobbly pass from Ryan Getzlaf past Craig Anderson. Both teams will advance to the elimination round, which begins Thursday.

Slovenia, with Anze Kopitar, plays Latvia this afternoon and most likely needs a victory to avoid being dropped to a lower division next year.

What a series Sully and Brownie are having.
Brown has 2 goals and 3 assists.
Sully has 2 goals and 2 assists.

Can any of you fine gentlemen provide a link of the goals scored and other highlights.

I can’t locate them for the life of me.

They have a story about it now, a small one, but their coverage is better than most.

  • Mark has any stats that you’re looking for.

    Dany Heatley Huh.

Not bad for a convicted felon.

Kill a man. Be a miliionaire.

Heatley and Snyder were friends and no one could possibly feel worse about what happened than Heatley. Way to be a massive asshole, anthony.

At least it was pool play. I’m not sure team USA can knock off Canada in the medal round. I hope someone does, or I have a feeling they’ll take home the gold on home soil.

GREAT new look to the blog!

I got to watch this game and while I am happy the Team Canada won I was very happy with the play of Brownie and Sully. Brownie was the player of the game for Team USA and well deserved.

The talking heads on TSN were practically in love with Brown. Every chance they got to talk about him they did and did so with so much fan fare. They had nothing but great things to say about Brown!

Now I’m being blamed for everything.
    Some intelligence here.
I don’t even know who this Snyder is.

  • metalmaster

Snyder was victim in car when Heatley crashed. Snyder family has forgiven Heatley from everything that I have
ever seen or read. Quite a burden of guilt for Heatley to bear and I am sure that he still thinks about it all the time.Anthony did you actually admit to being stupid?

    1. Awesome new look to the blog! I did a double take when it loaded, but it looks pretty slick.

    2. Anthony: Dan Snyder was a minor league hockey player who played parts of a couple seasons for the Atlanta Thrashers with Dany Heatley. When Heatley crashed his Ferrari into a tree, Snyder was in the car and was critically injured. He passed away six days later at the age of 25.

That anonymous guy is pretty much a jerk… it was a huge mistake no doubt, but man, give the guy a break. He drove recklessly, got in a devastating accident, pleaded guilty, got punished and has had to make 150 speeches about the dangers of reckless driving. I think he’s remorseful and is truly trying to learn from the experience, and Snyder’s family has forgiven him. In other words… stop being so ignorant.

    3. On a lighter note, good to see Brownie and Sully making names for themselves on a more global stage!

I dont like the new look on the blog. It is messy, and hard to separate the different comments. It should be lines that separate the comments as before.

I dont think we have to worry about the financials. It seems like Kings are doing the right thing with almost everyhing. We have a very skilled staff. Otherwise our ass. coach would not have been assisting Canada in the WC. We have a tons of talent that Rich are evaluating on the blog right now. Lots of good goalie prospects, and many talented forwards. We also have some great defensive prospects, and the upcoming draft is filled with good defenseman. So everything looks great or am I wrong?? It looks like we have the perfect possibilities to be playoff team for years to come, and maybe even a cup contender at some point.

I am proud to be a Kings fan, and even if we are experiencing hard times right now, I am sure that it will turn soon. Look at the miserable Coyotes, they did not make playoffs this year, but they sure improved a lot since last season, and I think we will do the same this year.

Lets just hope that Lombardi will take advance of all the talents that we have and make some big trades. Because I dont think that we can rely on that all the talents will grow and reach their full potential here for the Kings. There is just to much competition. Lets just hope that Lombardi will keep the right players and trade the ones that we dont have room for..

Do you agree with me? Or am I too positive?
