UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel said injuries will not be a big concern heading into training camp, which begins Aug. 10.
He said offensive linemen Mike Harris, Kai Maiava and Darius Savage and tight ends Ryan Moya and Logan Paulsen were all given good medical marks and will be ready for the start of camp.

Speaking of speedsters… I just read this:

Can anyone confirm this? If this is real it is yet another piece of good news for UCLA this off-season.

How do the coaches feel about Mike Harris? His Bio states:

“he made outstanding progress down the stretch … Started and played virtually every snap of the final five games at right tackle, the first action of his career”

Normally, a comment like that about the RFr would indicate we should expect big things this year, but obviously the line was a mess last year. Should we expect meaningful contributions from Harris?

Wow, that is awesome news BD! Those guys bring a lot of beef to the table. If healthy our TE position is our strongest position. Guys, that’s nice about the 2 speedsters but means little without the Beef. The OL is still the biggest question mark by far. Like we saw last year you can’t run, can’t throw without the Beef. Could it be the OL will have both talent (some) and depth (some) for a change? QB is also a concern area, with 1 unproven talent, 1 proven dud, a true FR and…oh-oh – is that it? The D should be pretty solid, altho depth is a question mark at all positions. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that we can get thru camp relatively injury-free! Thanks to 2 very good recruiting classes there is talent all around but much is raw and unproven…Overall there’s no doubt that things are looking up. Go Bruins!
