Adoree’ Jackson has UCLA in top four

Five-star prospect Adoree’ Jackson announced his final four last night: Florida, LSU, USC and UCLA. Ranked No. 6 in the country by Rivals.com, the 5-foot-10, 172-pound athlete is the top uncommitted player left on the board.

The Gardena Serra product can be an impact player as a cornerback, receiver or returner. He has one official visit left, but has not said where he will take it.

Jackson is also a state long jump champion, and has Olympic aspirations for the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.

Of his four finalists, Florida has by far the strongest track and field program. The Gators have won back-to-back NCAA men’s outdoor titles, and are currently ranked second nationally in USTFCCCA indoor rankings. Junior Marquis Dendy is also the highest-scoring long jumper in the country, setting the NCAA record in the event last season.

LSU, UCLA and USC are ranked 26th, 28th and 29th in the latest indoor rankings. They placed seventh, 12th and fifth in the final 2013 outdoor results.

I’m trying not to be pessimistic but, this weekend’s visitors list has dropped from 12 to 8. Furthermore bad weather in Louisiana may cancel 2 more visitors. Of the 8 that BRO show 1 is a verbal already. Looking at the remaining 7 only Kenny Young is favoring UCLA (reportedly). I could go on but Daily News pays Jack not me.

Scratch Damien Mama, and Bryce Dixon off that list

  • Bruin 34

Edge. On Bro they said weather will be fine by Friday. And only 1 or two have decided not to come for their visit.

  • EncinitasBruin

Thanks for the update. Are you going to provide a “big picture” recruiting update, Jack? We are less than a week away and it would be good to get an overview of where the Bruins are, and where we could end up.

    • Jonathan Taylor

If he doesn’t I will.. He’s just been busy with everything.. Also, including basketball, gymnastic, and now EVERYONE has too follow this Northwestern story too, Lead by former Bruin LB Houm..

  • Joseph B. Lowe

He’d make SC a Top 10 track squad.

  • jameskatt

I’d like to see Adorre Jackson as a receiver. He’s too small at cornerback to cover the taller receivers.

  • Joseph B. Lowe

Oh God, can’t someone at UCLA donate some money for mush mouth Walton? Pathetic.

USC quarterback Max Wittek will forgo participating in spring practice, graduate at the end of the semester and transfer to another school to play his final two seasons of eligibility, he said Wednesday.

Like a rat deserting a sinking ship.

    • Patrick Wilson

Come on now troll. Max Wittek is leaving because with Max Browne coming in and Kessler likely remaining the starter there is no place for Wittek.

I like our chance with Adoree to sign with us. Abraham Hall,. who ran one of the fastest 100M in prep history, has enrolled. Aaron Sharp is also a Texas track star. I think Adoree can see that he could be a part of rebuilding track program at UCLA.

UCLA has an epic recruiting weekend scheduled. Recruits are getting the word about it. Mama wanted to experience it but wanted to switch his official to an unofficial and didn’t wanna stay the whole weekend so UCLA dropped him as they should have. Mora don’t play around. Jack. I’m sorry buddy. But your coverage of recruiting has been pathetic! C’mon man! Your news on Adoree is like 10 days old! Smh!

Mora dropped Mama? Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Nobody else believes it.

      • Bruin 34

Lmao Mark. Yes. I have an online account at BRO. Mama was supposed to visit for the weekend on an official but wanted to switch to an Unofficial. Coaches felt he wasn’t seriously interested in being there. In case you haven’t heard Mark. Mora doesn’t F around! He wants kids that want to play for UCLA.A UCLA scholarship is earned now. We don’t just take anyone liked we used to. Fyi.
