Tom Bradley talks San Bernardino and his plans for UCLA’s defense

After spending almost his entire career at Penn State, new UCLA defensive coordinator Tom Bradley has had a few months to get adjusted to Los Angeles.

He doesn’t get lost anymore, for example, and has learned how to make use of his horn when necessary. And when he goes back to the East Coast to recruit, he can pitch the prime location as well as professional connections that could help in the future.

San Bernardino, though? That’s a different matter. When the Bruins came out to CSUSB for their annual preseason training camp, it marked the coaching veteran’s first time in the city.

Asked about his impression of the place, Bradley said: “I’m not sure where it even is. We’re out here somewhere.”

On Wednesday, he also talked about his plans for UCLA to have a “versatile” defensive scheme, as well as his increased familiarity with his new players.
