USC QB Matt Barkley wins the Wuerffel Trophy, which goes to QB who “combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.”
“This is amazing,” said Barkley. “Danny Wuerffel is a guy who has represented college football as well as it can be represented. He’s a tremendous human being and he’s probably the best example of what an all-around student-athlete can really be. It’s humbling.”
Are you sure it’s not the “We’re Full of It” Trophy? Barks is a putz.
In other news, former Trojan QB Jesse Scroggins has committed to Arizona.
Great news, congrats to MB.
From Heisman front runner to the renown ” Wuerffel Award ” Yipee!!!!!!!!!!
Nice, but hardly what was expected at the beginning of the season. Talk about major regression in a player’s reputation? He had to have help with this happening so quickly. Enter one gameplanning-playcaller to do the trick for you.
Congratulations, Matt! You join an outstanding fraternity of previous winners of this award.
A well-deserved honor for a great role model. The kid’s handled disappointment this year much better than most men twice his age. This Bruin applauds this fine Trojan.
Consolation prize. Nothing more. Sad, really.
The what?
