USC Morning Buzz: Marqise Lee Runs 4.5 and 4.44 In 40 At NFL Combine

Pete Carroll reacted to Marqise Lee’s first 40 time of 4.5 though Lee rebounded with a 4.44 on his second attempt. The reaction seems a little dramatic based on Lee’s history and quickness. Officially, Lee was given a time of 4.52.

Mike Williams was 6’4″, 228 and had 4.59 and 4.61 40s at the combine.
Calvin Johnson was 6’5″, 239 and had a 4.35 40 time at the combine.
Combine numbers are usually overrated and Lee was awesome two years ago, at Arizona for example. But small, slow, and he dropped easy balls this past year doesn’t translate too well at the next level. I hope he does well.

Lee is at best a fourth or fifth round pick. Always has been. His work ethic won’t endear him to many coaches. SUCC fans have stated they have watched Lee not practice due to “I’m to important to practice,” reasons.

But does he know the difference between “too” and “to?”

I think you have shlt stains on your glasses! Does acting like a DlC make you feel better about yourself?

        4th or 5th rounder? I thought you’d say he’d go UNDRAFTED?

How about a little wager on him getting taken before the 4th round?

Loser has to stop negativity for 1 week.

Just because the Alligator gets drafted higher doesn’t mean he’s worth the money. I mean didn’t a NFL team actually draft Matty Linloser in the 1st round. What a bust. He’s now standing on a corner hoping people recognize him, and spending his money he didn’t earn or deserve.

I know, Mr. SUCC. Nobody out of USC ever was. He’s a guaranteed bust.

Actually ALL the USC players might as well quit now, right?

Lee would be a 5th rounder if he’d played at Worstwood 80 yarder and was a Bruin.

Why do you continually try to prove how utterly stupid you are in every post you make.

      • have to agree….too many dropped TD balls and injury prone. but his stellar personality/ Wonderlick should score some points with GM’s….my board has him going early Third Round.

I’m not surprised as I didn’t expect him to tear up the 40. Lee is a guy who can accelerate on his deep routes or when making yards after the catch.

Although his stock was better last year, I think scouts have seen enough of him to grab him early.

I think Pete just realized that Scott still has a job.

Maybe Lee is quick and not fast. But his 40 time is not an issue.. worry about the dropped passes
