USC leads 53-47 at the Galen Center as Nikola Jovanovic has 15 points. I saw Clay Helton on campus earlier entertaining recruits. And assistant coach Johnny Nansen is at the basketball game with some recruits too. Actor Christian Bale is also at the game. Perhaps he just wants to walk across the street to the SAG Awards tonight.
UPDATED: USC leads 60-54 with 12:26 left. And Helton just showed up! Now it’s 81-73 USC with 5:24 remaining. USC leads 91-82 with 1:22 left as Nikola Jovanovic has 26 points.
FINAL SCORE: USC wins 98-88 as Nikola Jovanovic scored 28 points. USC held Washington’s Andrew Andrews to 15 points as he made only 3 of 14 shots.

Yeah it was. UW is pretty good. Every time UW cut the lead to 5 we turned it up.
Do you think the team can sweep in the desert?
That is a tough task. We had our worst two shooting games of the season against the Oregon schools, but if we can shoot like we normally do we can sweep them.
And play defense. Hold a team under 80 maybe.
Exactly what I told my friend. We score a lot of points, but give the up also. We scored 100 on Cal Poly and gave up 80. I agree. Even our transition defense is bad. We have to get better in the defensive side .
As I alluded to in a previous comment to an earlier post, when Jovanovic is scoring it opens it up for everyone . . .
I agree. Jovanovic was ON POINT offensively today 28 points. I just get irritated from his defensive play. But he really stepped up today on getting good baskets when UW looked like they were gonna break through.

Huskies probably pretty happy split road trip now 6-3 and already have been to Arizona. Only 4 more road games for Huskies. Two of those at Cal and Stanford. Like their chances.
Same for USC – four road games left – Stanford and Cal and AZ and AZ St. w. rematches w. ucla, OR, OR St., UT, and CO @ Galen.
Oregon and utah will be the toughest matchups at home. Oregon looks to be the class of the league right now .

I would say USC provides a tougher matchup for Huskies than Bruins do. They are both Athletic meaning USC and Wshington but Buskies a little you ger. i think Washington a little surprised they are doing as well as they are with all the freshmen and they have a 5 star Mc Donald All American point guard coming in next year with a big man also. Assumming they all stay around which they probably should except Andrews. Huskies and Trojans could both be special next year.

We need them two, I know the point guard is a true point guard who can penetrate, pass and shoot for being a little under sized, but his highlight tape is legit. And the forward is a 5*, but haven’t heard much on him besides that SC is the “leader” early on.

That was scary and frustrating towards the end there. Glad to see we found a way to close it out. And good thing 12 wasn’t the same player he was last game – that helped big-time.
