The Ripe Festival, a celebration of local food and those who grow, create and savor it, is coming to the Olive Avenue Market Saturday (October 20).
The free event, hosted by the market and Rolling Hills Herbs and Annuals, will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the market, 530 W. Olive Ave., Redlands.
It’s a chance to sample fresh and local artisan food and beverages, as well as meet the locals who grow and create them.
Participants include:

- Coffey Road Cakes
- Soffel Farms
- Graber Olives
- Rolling Hills Herbs
- Johnny Jaquez Photography
The market is also hosting a recipe contest as part of the event.
If you have a favorite recipe that uses fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, today (October 15) is the last day to enter.
The only requirement is that the recipe calls for one of the market’s specialty olive oils or Rolling Hills artisan herb salts or sugars.
Submit your recipe here. Several recipes will be chosen and prepared in the market’s kitchen.
Prizes will be given for first, second and third place.
