Fans know Carolyn’s Cafe in Redlands is a great spot for breakfast or lunch.
However, man (and woman) does not live on breakfast and lunch alone. So, Carolyn’s Cafe is hosting another of its rare BBQ Nights this Saturday (February 21).
The restaurant will be serving pulled pork and brisket plates and sandwiches and a Southwest bacon avocado burger, along with side dishes and desserts — including Carolyn’s deliciously decadent coffee cake.
The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m., but you probably want to get there early to avoid any sell-outs.
Carolyn’s Cafe is at 1711 W. Lugonia Ave., Suite 101.

Time has run out for the Carlo and Angela Alcé, owners of Dhat Island in Redlands.
The restaurant will serve its last meal in its current location on Saturday (November 22).
Troubles began back in June, when the property where the restaurant is located was sold.
Carolyn’s Cafe in Redlands — usually only open until 2 p.m. — is hosting its first BBQ Night from 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow (October 18).
Tri-tip and pulled pork sandwiches and plates will be available, plus your choice of ranchero beans, cole slaw or fries for sides.
And it wouldn’t be Carolyn’s without their famous coffee cake — or chocolate chip crumb cake, if you prefer — for dessert.
Carolyn’s is at 1711 W. Lugonia Ave.

It’s been a roller coaster month for the owners of Rialto’s El Kiosco Mexican Restaurant.
The restaurant closed late last month when the restaurant’s owners were unable to come to a new lease agreement with the property owners. It appeared that the Morden family would be vacating the spot in Rialto where they’ve operated their restaurant for 25 years and transferring their business to their Redlands location, El Kiosco Express.
The good news is they were finally able to come to an agreement with the property owners and have signed a new three-year lease for the Rialto location.
Just as it did with its Rancho Cucamonga pizzeria, Pieology is gearing up for three days of pizza giveaways as a kind of a stress test as a preamble to its Redlands store opening.

Tacked on as a postscript to a story regarding a Redlands restaurant swap (Papaya Bay moving into the old Mikan/Wild Rocket space, Pieology moving into Papaya Bay’s old location), we learned that Roberto Argentina announced Tuesday via Facebook that today (May 31) would be the last day of business for Farm Artisan Foods.
Good luck getting a reservation.
