Reign: Taylor on Idaho series

The Reign went 1-2 against the Steelheads on their road trip to Idaho last week, including a 6-0 loss in Saturday’s series finale.

According to Karl Taylor, it wasn’t as poor a performance as you might think. Here’s what he had to say after Tuesday’s practice:

The first game (a 3-0 loss), we played really well. We didn’t win, but I thought we played really well. It was basically a 1-0 game, but we were in it until the end of the game.

Game 2 (a 3-1 win), we played extremely well. It was one of our better games of the season.

Game 3 was probably the best first period we’ve had all year but we were down 2-0. The shots were probably 22-5. We just dominated, but couldn’t score. We played outstanding. Then they got some power plays, got some momentum and they took the game away from us. They’re a good team, but for two periods we played really well and were down 2-0. I wasn’t disappointed with how we played. I was disappointed with the third period and how we pushed back; we didn’t do a good job of that.

Idaho’s a good team, and they were three very good hockey games.

Also, because Disney on Ice is invading CBBA this week, the Reign will be practicing at Center Ice Arena the next two days beginning at 10 a.m.; both practices are open to the public.
