San Gorgonio’s Nate Meadors piling up Pac-12 offers

The college offers are coming fast and furious for San Gorgonio senior Nate Meadors.
Meadors, the star quarterback, is being recruited primarily as a defensive back.
While he made a trip to Boise State last weekend, he has also now received offers from five Pac-12 schools, all in the last few days: UCLA, Cal, Washington State, Washington and the one he got just on Wednesday, Colorado.
He’s also got offers from Nevada, San Diego State and UC Davis and more are likely to follow.
“Honestly, I think it’s great for the kid,” said San Gorgonio coach Ron Gueringer, who played at UCLA himself. “It’s better late than never. This was something I said early, that he’s a Pac-12 guy. They (recruiters) did some hemming and hawing. Nate’s done all the work. He’s had a fantastic senior year.”
The vast majority of Meadors’ game tape is at quarterback, but Gueringer knows that’s not a problem.
“They all just want to see his athleticism on the field,” he said. “When you play quarterback for us, you have an opportunity to shine. He’s a decision-maker.”
Gueringer said that some of the recruiters, who have since offered Meadors admitted to Gueringer they made a mistake when they didn’t initially believe Gueringer’s claim that Meadors was a Pac-12 talent.
