Sheriff’s Norwalk Station invited public to ‘Haunted Jail’

NORWALK — Back by popular demand this Halloween season, the sheriff’s Norwalk Station will be hosting it’s “Haunted Jail” and open house event Oct. 22.
The free event is planned for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the station, 12335 Civic Center Drive, organizers said in a written statement.
“Due to an overwhelming demand, we are going to empty our jails of all inmates and fill it with ghouls, ghosts, monsters and the living dead,” the statement said.
The station parking lot will be filled with displays, including a sheriff’s helicopter, motorcycles and other vehicles  and “Bert” the sheriff’s camel.
Kids’ activities such as face painting and a bounce house will also be offered.
“We gave had great success in getting community groups to partner with us and volunteer to decorate the jail cells and make this one of the scariest haunted jails ever,” the statement said.
