Gavin Schilling announces Wednesday

Three-star forward Gavin Schilling is deciding between Minnesota, Villanova, Michigan State and UCLA, and will announce Wednesdy at 11:15 a.m. on Twitter. The 6-foot-9 recruit watched the Bruins’ win over Arizona in the Pac-12 semifinals, and his Findlay Prep teammate Allerik Freeman is already signed to UCLA.

UPDATE: Schilling said he will announce at 12:30 p.m. instead.

Michigan State is the best team, and has the best coach, of all teams in his list.

and ever, in the history of people being in charge of others on a “team”

I wonder how all the effort on the part of the peanut gallery to get Howland fired affects the decision making of an elite athlete. I wonder if this guy were to announce for UCLA it might indicate he’s had some off-the-record conversations about the coach’s future at UCLA and, conversely, if he goes elsewhere if that means he’s been told either explicitly or implicitly that Howland won’t be here. Just a thought. As I’ve said before, be careful what you wish for. I speak from experience, I’ve seen the revolving door.

Schilling picked MSU. I couldn’t wait for Jack who has better things to do.
