UCLA announced Thursday morning that former player Andy Meyers and his wife Shannon have committed $1 million toward the school’s plan to build a football facility west of Spaulding Field. Meyers was an All-Pac-10 guard and third-team All-American who is now the CEO of Shangri-La Construction.
“It is an honor for Shannon and I to give back to UCLA,” Andy Meyers said. “UCLA afforded me not only a great education but access to a great Bruin family in business.”
Part of the new facility will be named after the couple.
The project is budgeted at $50 million, and the school launched a fundraising campaign on Sept. 24. There is currently no scheduled date of completion.
