Head coach Jim Mora announces UCLA’s spring game rosters

Helped by a week of light practices, UCLA will be healthy enough to hold a real spring game after all this Saturday at the StubHub Center. Head coach Jim Mora announced rosters today for offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone’s blue team and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s white team.

It more or less looks like UCLA’s first-team offense will face the first-team defense, each respectively paired with defensive and offensive reserves. A few quick notes:

— Starting right guard Alex Redmond is listed on the blue team, despite Mora ruling him out of the spring game earlier this week. Redmond has been limited most of spring as he recovers from an offseason hand surgery, but recently ditched his cast for a brace.

Reserve lineman John Lopez was iffy to go earlier this week as he battled a virus, but returned to practice on Wednesday.

— Receivers Thomas Duarte and Devin Fuller are both absent. Duarte sprained his ankle last week, and Fuller has battled a sore back.

— Early enrollee Zach Whitley is not listed as a linebacker on either team. Saturday is also prom night for Galena Park (Texas) North Shore High.
