There are 100 days separating us from the start of the 2016 UCLA football season. Get excited. The Bruins open the year at Kyle Field against Texas A&M on Sept. 3.

The matchup between the Bruins and Aggies is a game with extremely high stakes, according to ESPN. For Texas A&M, it’s a chance to turn the page on a transition-filled offseason. For UCLA, the Bruins can start the year on a high note after a disappointing end to 2015 and Josh Rosen could get a jump start on his Heisman campaign.

Former UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone now oversees the offense in College Station, where he has a new quarterback in Oklahoma transfer Trevor Knight. He’s the projected starter for the Aggies, and is ESPN’s most anticipated nonconference player for the Pac-12.

Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin talked about his team with Sports Illustrated, addressing the quarterback change and Mazzone’s influence on the offense.

UCLA head coach Jim Mora is undefeated in season openers at UCLA, beating Rice and Nevada and twice knocking off Virginia. The matchup with the Aggies is a cut above the rest, though, when it comes to Mora’s previous season openers.
