Barkley On Playcalling

Here’s what Matt Barkley said regarding his comments a few weeks ago that Marqise Lee was too much of a focus of the offense.

“I think what I said was enough. I’m not here to bash anyone. I’m not the play-caller, when it comes down to it.

“We’ve done great at times and not well at times. I don’t know if you can pinpoint it on one certain, specific factor. There’s a lot of factors that go into it, to make it a great game. A lot of times we, as players, shot ourselves in the foot. So, a lot of factors come in.’’

  1. Yes, Matt, of course there were a lot of factors. You stated before that one of those factors was directing too many plays to Lee. You didn’t retract that in today’s statement, you said that what you said [before] was enough. You said you want to avoid bashing, and stated what we all know–that you don’t call the plays. That implies that you stand by what you said before.

Would that be your Barkley Breakdown of your earlier remark?

  2. looky-looky!!!

all the trOXans lining up to kick Honey Boo Boo in the arse as he leaves town!!!

sure not the Heisman and Natty all the Nabobs guaran-fing-teed at the beginning of the season, eh?

    HAWR-HAWR!!!!

    this really IS Limbo U!!!!

    go a little LOWER now!!!

  3. Barkley is trying to be discreet and keep it in the locker room, Kiffin keyed in on Lee this year like he keyed on Woods last year and did not want MB to deviate from that plan. I wonder if Wittek got chewed out for spreading the ball around against ND?
