Quote For The Day

“I perfectly understand that people disagree with some of my decisions, but I can promise fans that each decision is made with a great deal of thought for both the short term and long term ramifications for the department.”

— USC athletic director Pat Haden

  1. Haden is/was a trustee, meaning he dealt with the financial aspect. When he says he is basing decisions on short & long term, that sounds like a frigging bean-counter to me. If that is so, he needs to move across town and join the “fat bean-counter” over there who is making it a career for himself and runs the whole show by you guessed it… bean-counting! This should never be part of this University if it wants to keep its loyal fan base & supporters!

    • I don’t know if it’s all about the bean count. We usually don’t worry to much about cost of things. I think Haden is a smart man, well educated, and has had great exposure to life’s lessons. For some reason I still have faith he will do the right thing, but I don’t think like him, so I can’t figure out just what is going on in his head. Should be an exciting year.

    • Why would there be a financial squeeze with all the fat cat alumni donating to the university and the astronomical tuition? Something doesn’t add up.

  2. Really??? Is this the justification for keeping O’Neill after a horrible season and then firing him at the half?? Are we going to see Kiffin fired half way through the season? or will Pat wait until Oregon, Stanford, Arizona, UCLA and ND run over the trojans. It’s not like the Kiffin has a resume brimming with success. Perhaps he can save his season by asking Chow to come back and coach the offense??? and wasn’t the worst game of the season against a miserable GeorgiaTech team???

    • How’s the peepin’ goin’ tapette? Tapette how’s the peepin’? Come on now tapette time fer’ you to strutt yer’ stuff! Imean strew yer’ mess….yeah tapette you de girl…hmmmm shake it westwood white bread….

  3. Fire Mike Rae’s caddy if he doesn’t lose the offensive coordinator with the Denny’s menu! He’s gutless standing up to the corrupt NCAA..

  4. Why even acknowledge fans who vent on websites? They are losers. Who cares what soemone who has such a lame, sad excuse for a life they past over 30,000 times in five years at the Peristyle.

  5. Bottom line for me…is Kiffin going to be a long term solution? Is he going to be the next John McKay, John Robinson, or Pete Carroll? I say no. Kiffin might have a good year next year, and that will save his job. But it will just prolong his tenure and keep SC from hiring the next great coach. Larry Smith went to 3 straight Rose Bowls, but he wasn’t the long term solution. And it’s really not the record. This guy is an embarrassment to SC.

  6. Puss in Boots is an alcoholic…that’s why his nose (and cheeks) is always bright red. He was probably hammered when he made that statement. Total buffoon.
