Better to do it now than the week before signing day. These kids who play this game have no sense of what commitment means. Why not simply “play the field” instead of getting into the soft commit b.s. routine? It’s not a great lesson in a young man’s life about keeping his word – whether it’s to a coach, an institution, a girlfriend/boyfriend, husband/wife.
GEEZ LOUISE!!! Can’t a 17 yr old kid change his mind about which school HE chooses without getting a lecture from Methuselah??
don’t take your 7-6 (pick up sticks) out on these kids you old Tapettes!!!
(psssst: hey Casey, SMART move!!!)
I seriously doubt he needs a defender here. Go ahead and change your mind as often as you want – before you commit.
How many different handles do you use on this site?
Keeping your word. Tell that to Kylie Fitts. Kiffin sure kept his word.
Coaches don’t keep their word (not just Kiffin. Medical Redshirts, anyone?). Schools don’t keep their word. Why should recruits? It’s a business. Kids understand that. Coaches understand that. Schoolsunderstand that. It’s just the dumbass fans who believe it isn’t.
yes, we, as passive spectators, should expect 16 year old kids who are offered when they’re sophomores to really understand what it means to commit to a college. If coaches were smart, they wouldn’t allow commits before a certain point. In truth, Lane brought this on himself by creating the “we only have 15 rides so you better take one now” mentality in the first place. This is a business – kids are smart for securing a safety spot and then looking around.
You continue to post on the wrong blog
What is wrong with you? hahaha!
I agree with sped here. He’s a kid and deserves to look at options. I’m glad he admitted the decommit early so the team can adjust its recruiting goals. Kids change their minds about college all the time. We shouldn’t hold football players to a higher standard.
CAL POLY SLO MUSTANG’S ROOOCCCKKK!!! Ask BandwagonFanboy all about that. Happy bday, BandwagonFan!! 😉
Yawn. The kid is a punch anyway.
Just like Vanderdoes? LOL.
Didn’t a bunch of players just decommit already? Something seems amiss here.
You got that right, honey!
