  1. About 3 – 4 yrs. ago on his show Petros Papadakis had a funny story when he played for USC. Just before the team went out to play at the Coliseum there
was one player who had this big buckle that read ‘Allah Akbar’. Hackett took one look around the locker room and turned to an assistant and whispered loudly “Get that thing off of no. 43 now!”

  2. Paul Hackett is a very knowledgeable Coach , he’s just not Head Coaching material at ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. He didn’t want Ed Orgeron to recruit Michael Patterson because he was too short , but Patterson ended up being an All American and a #1 draft pick…lmao and he did not want Carson Palmer to lift weights because it would mess up his throwing motion . Coaches that over analyze things usually end up in the unemployment line like Paul Hackett and Lane Kiffin, because they pay too much attention to the Stupid things that are irrelevant to the game.

    • I’d heard Smith was the same (height of players) but the reverse – didn’t want them too tall.

  4. And Hackett used to call Scotty…well, he actually didn’t call him anything because he didn’t know who gage he!! he was.
