Crosstown Rivalry 40 Percent Off

Embedded image permalink

Larry Scott’s got USC and UCLA playing at 6 p.m. in Westwood on a Wednesday. Andy Enfield’s won three Pac-12 games despite constantingly saying his team is improved. And UCLA attendance was down 15 percent in Steve Alford’s first season and at one point another 11 percent this season. Add it all up and you get 40 percent off tickets

  1. What out for the anti-semites in Westwood…..their student council is something else, eh Scott? …..Oy vey!

  2. Over 40% off SELECT tickets……the seats which are right next to Scott, to be exact……

  3. With UCLA trying to secure a spot in the NIT you’d think this would be a hotter ticket.

    • They’re just happy being a bubble team….and beating USC, of course, regardless if they make the NCAA playoffs or not…

      • I’m pretty sure you have no business dissing UCLA basketball when your own team is in LAST place. I won’t even bother addressing the nonsense in your post, since you are clearly delusional.

        • I’m sure that beating USC will somehow improve your RPI..(sarcasm)…..but if you don’t, then RIP to your chances of getting into the NCAA tourney (truth)…..

  4. I think the current UCLA coach is a nice fellow and should be given a chance. I lost a ton of games my first couple of years until I figure out how to win$.

  5. College hoops is laughable with the exception of just a few elite teams. Nobody really cares because the sport has gone downhill, along with the talent, so drastically. Oh sure, there are some die-hard fans. To them, March Madness and all that inferior hoops play will always be the greatest month in sports. To me, it’s time to catch up on pay-for cable movies and unread magazines.

    • I agree with you. College basketball is hard to watch now. UCLA’s team was gutted after last season due to this “one and done” crap. They need to change the rules so that they’re similar to college baseball: Either go pro right out of high school or make it a requirement to play 3-4 years in college before going pro. Heck, at this point, I’ll take 2 years. Unwatchable!

      • Agree 100%. College basketball is an abomination, with exception of a few teams. College basketball should adopt the stance of professional baseball. Everyone is eligible out of high school for the draft. If you are drafted and do not sign, you retain your college eligibility, but you have to stay three years.

      • If you tell these hoops prodigies they have to stay in school 3 years, they’ll just skip college. That’s my prediction. The hoops game is doomed in college and overburdened with mediocrity. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle.

        • Then they need to go into a developmental league, just like the minor leagues. The point is that a majority of the time these one and done’s are more trouble than they are worth. The only program that benefits on a consistent basis is Kentucky. You can build a team when you have kids that stay for at least three years.

          • I still like the baseball rule. Either let them go to the NBA straight out of high school or after 3 years. That will help the game and allow the coaches to teach some fundamentals which are sorely lacking in today’s game.

There are only a handful of kids ready to go straight to the league. Let the others either play overseas or the D-League or if interested, actually get an education.

          • Problem is basketball players are not like baseballers, who are generally much better students, more patient with their careers, and view college as a good substitute for the minors. The problem is how the kids see themselves, which is not as good as they really are in many cases.

      • Neither team is any good. Who cares except you, the obtuse, needy Troll who still thinks March Madness is a great sporting event and that the little gutties are relevant in hoops. You’re so slow. So Bridesmaid U of you.

          • Owns, you are still alive! After you posted your suicidal thoughts last week, I feared the worst!

          • That madness about the pistol! You were posting dark fantasies like this was Fifty Shades of Powderpuff Blue.

          • imitating Josh Shaw’s lie and mislead act to promoted a cheap Klown U fantasies, are you Dupee.

  6. this is IT, wolfman!!! we are playing for a TRIP to the BIG DANCE!!!!

we are LOCKED in, so long as we beat the architect of Clunk City!!

will the trOXans MAN UP, or ROLL OVER and LAY DOWN????

a true GUT CHECK!!!! i am proposing a Loser Leaves Town Challenge: if the Bruins lose, i’ll leave this blog FOREVER, and will encourage my “friends” to do the same!!!

anyone going to take me up on this “Loser Leaves Town” challenge????? JETHRO????

    • EVERYDAY is “GUT CHECK” time, if you’re Scott Wolf…. that was way TOO easy, Charlie….but thanks for the gumball !!!!!

    • Let’s be honest Chuck Buck, we don’t need this game to determine who the loser is. You made that clear a long time ago.

    • As Frank Buck would say, “I’m game”.

How about amending the proposition to …leave El Lobo’s blog for THIS calendar year? That would allow the loser to eventually return…assuming an altered attitude after he or the blog having had a ‘Come to Jesus Moment’.
P.S. You still owe me a coke zero from our last bet.

      • Larry,

He’ll never go for it. I offered the same thing to him a few years ago and he danced around it.
The reality is USC athletics are a huge part of his life and he couldn’t survive without them.

One further note: If by some miracle you get him to accept, make sure all of his user names are included.

        • Wow LarDog and JG reprise Capt. Midnight and “Ikky,” with two K’s, “Mudd,” with two D’s.

Ikky are you still using your secret “Capt. Midnight,” official code/decoder ring?

        • Ball in his court. He created the challenge, not me. I merely accepted with a softening proviso. Mox-nix to me. I made two new years’ resolutions. 1) To drop 15 lbs and 2) To not waste anymore time than 5 or 10 minutes on this site once a week. Too many valley girls, on both sides of the LOS, having hissey-fits with one another…at the expense of having a meaningful dialog re: USC sports.
As far as the poster known as Bruin Rob who repeatedly delights in the death of M.D., an USC kicker, I would wish him to be in the same room with the boy’s parents sometime in the near future. Turns out, the professed comment policy of this site appears to be a sham.

  7. Better idea.

Go see USC – UCLA baseball on Sunday at Dodger Stadium.

    3:30 pm.

  8. You’d have to actually pay me to go see a USC basketball game until they prove they are serious about the program. The way they threw the program under the bus when our football team was under scrutiny just to try and gain some lenience for the football program was embarrassing.

    • Excellent point. There’s a extremely short supply of Ethics available at Klown U.

      • Nothing to do with ethics–just a serious miscalculation. Now get back in your clown car.

          • And what is ethical about spending your time here trolling USC alum and fans?

          • Why do you post ignorant SUCC threads and act like a Klown U loser. You first 71.

          • 71 displays his classical Klown U edukation and dibating skills. Your mommy and daddy must be sick they wasted their $$$$$ on your SUCC lack of edukation. Stay ignorant 71.

  9. 40% off on the SUCLA-SC basketball tickets?–

First off, I don’t know what you are talking about, and neither do the ticket vendors.

Second, with the quality of these two teams, there should be a 40% discount.

Third, all that said, I am going to the game as one of the few SC addicts because I want to be present if the improbable occurs i.e.
A terrible SC team beating a less than average SUCLA team.

It could happen, but I am not laying a bet on it

  10. UCLA doesn’t like hoops any more because they suck now? LOL It will be sugar sweeeeeet for USC to beat UCLA on Wednesday to put them out of their misery. If not, oh well, it just opens the door to the possibility of Enfield being fired sooner! Win win. 3,2,1, attack gutties! lol
