Adoree Jackson Does Not Make 2016 Olympic Team

Adoree Jackson will not go to the Rio Olympics. He finished 10th after three rounds and only the top 8 advanced to the final three rounds. Jackson’s best jump was 25-8.25, which is about a foot short of the Olympic qualifying standard.

It capped what was a disappointing long-jump season for Jackson, who concentrated on track this offseason. By the way, Jackson competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials as “unattached,” which means USC did not pay his way. Why is that an issue? Read here.

  1. Congratulations to Andoree for following his goal to compete for a spot on the team.As sw keeps saying he’s a foot short of qualifying stsndard. What sw leaves out, so far TWO jumpers have gone over 28′ with 3rd high 27′.Again congrats.

    • Trojan Randall Cunningham competes now for a spot on HJ Olympic Team. His sister Vashti a high school senior came in 2nd HJ to make the team.Father Randall Cunningham is Vashti’s coach.

  2. It’s not all that bad. He got his chance. The coach kept his word. Too bad he didn’t make it but he tried. All is good

  3. What can you say he competed and gave it his best. There’s always tomorrow. Time to play football Adoree!
    FIGHT ON ✌

  4. Welcome home Adoree’, you are a Pac12 long jump champion, and a football All American – now go out and earn that Hesiman

        • Yes. And he’s most likely leaving after this year. Hopefully he can take his game to the next level and help elevate our team while also helping his bid to be drafted high. I like that he’s a junior and will have a sophomore in Iman Marshall who has a year of starting under his belt. It’s time for those guys to lock it down.

          • Its amazing to have the quality of corners on this team as we do now – hopefully it results in more than just South Champs this season

  5. Kudos to Adoree. As time goes by the sting of not make the Olympic Team will be replaced by the satisfaction of knowing he was in the arena and competed. Fight On!
