    • Judging by the cam footage, that’s basically what they are doing. Going down to dirt for the stands, tearing down the entire press box. This is more than I expected — I am relieved they are not putting the new seats in over the old concrete — it was in terrible shape. Basically only the tunnels are left. It will be interesting to see how they deal with the hallways and exterior.

      • They would be fools not to widen the tunnels esp. with the wide carriage load due to the post-1965 diet consumed across the land.

        • In Earthquake country and any other need to mass exit, widen the tunnels is needed for safety.

          • Amen bruddah’! Sheer panic would be a total disaster for anyone stuck midway in any of those tunnels

      • He lacks the literary skills to comprehend. He belongs with the rest of the toilet crew

      • Most venues that remodel or do adds (pressbox) lose landmark status.. Dealt with that issue at Santa Anita Park…

  1. This is a good move for USC. Great historic value and Olympics coming up and new stadium in Inglewood. Poor bruins have to drive 20 miles to our second home. It is great to be a Trojan!

  2. went to some great track and field dual meets and invitationals in the 50’s and 60’s there,in addition to football games; the Dodger games were not as good there…seems sad to me to tear her apart.

  3. If you google LA Coliseum renovation, they have a link to a live cam which is where this picture is from

  4. I heard St. Pat is using some of that scholarship money his family still has to have his name engraved in the torch.
