Happy birthday to Hangar 24!

Redlands brewery Hangar 24 is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a mystery brew which will only be available this Saturday.

What’s in this mystery beer, you might ask?

You’ll have to wait until Saturday to find out. The only clue to the anniversary ale is that it’s made of local ingredients that are only available for two weeks out of the year.

Hmm.

The beer will be served during the brewery’s anniversary celebration from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday (May 30). Hangar 24 is at 1710 Sessums Drive in Redlands.

Other activities set for the celebration include helicopter rides from High Performance Helicopters (the brewery is across the street from Redlands Municipal Airport), live music from the Buffalo Blues band and singer-songwriter Kelly McGuire, guided tours of the recently-expanded brewery, food from Johnny’s Tacos and Sports, and of course, lots of good beer, brewed on site.

The anniversary party is free and open to the public. Kids are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult.

I’ve had several pints of their beer at the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe in Redlands and haven’t been disappointed. I’ve been meaning to get out to the brewery to check it out and maybe head home with a full growler. This celebration might just be the incentive I need.

Hope to see you there!
