Claremont is about to become a Sanctuary city.

Sanctuary Coffee, that is.

The non-profit coffeehouse is ready to serve — both its customers and the community.

You see, Sanctuary, which officially opens Monday (May 22), will give all proceeds to a trio of local charities: Ability First, Every ONE Free and Inland Valley Hope Partners.

In addition, its coffee partner, Redlands-based Wild Goose Coffee Roasters, has pledged to donate 10 pounds of food to local food banks for every pound of coffee sold at Sanctuary.

Hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (with a break between 3 and 6:30 p.m.) Sunday. Sanctuary Coffee is at 994 W. Foothill Blvd.

If you want to get a taste of Sanctuary before Monday, the coffeehouse will host a special sneak preview from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday (May 20).
