Dodgers shuffle roster between doubleheader games.

DENVER — The Dodgers dropped Game 1 of their doubleheader Tuesday, 6-3 to the Rockies. You can read about that here.

Zack Greinke will start Game 2 tonight, but the bullpen will look very different than it did when the Dodgers set out on their current six-game road trip — even a little different compared to an hour ago.

Right-hander Josh Ravin and left-hander Daniel Coulombe were brought up from Triple-A Oklahoma City, while left-hander David Huff was designated for assignment and catcher Austin Barnes was sent back to Oklahoma City.

Ravin takes Huff’s place on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster. The 27-year-old right hander and former Chatsworth High star has pitched 209 minor-league games over parts of 10 seasons without ever appearing in the majors.

Huff pitched an inning out of the bullpen in each of the last two games. The former UCLA star has already been designated for assignment once, in April, before he accepted an assignment to Oklahoma City. The Dodgers might try to keep him in the organization again.

In the last 72 hours, the Dodgers have been busy burning a hole in the transactions wire.

Matt West took the roster spot of injured left-hander Paco Rodriguez on Sunday. Huff replaced West on Monday. Ian Thomas was recalled as the 26th man for Tuesday’s doubleheader. Now, Ravin and Coulombe become the fourth and fifth pitchers to join the bullpen who were not on the active roster when the road trip began.

Ravin In 20 innings at Oklahoma City, Ravin had allowed 12 hits, walked eight and struck out 30 batters. His 2.25 ERA ranked third among the Dodgers’ Triple-A relievers. Ravin is believed to have been able to opt out of his minor-league deal at some point this month if the Dodgers did not add him to their major-league staff.

Coulombe got into one game with the Dodgers on May 5 but otherwise has spent the entire season at Triple-A, posting a 1.15 ERA.
