PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Jackie Macy, Setter, St. Lucy’s, Senior
The St. Lucy’s setter finished her high school career by leading the Regents to a second consecutive CIF championship. Macy, who will play at Colgate next season, collected 1,103 assists on the season, led the Sierra League champions with 59 aces and had 251 digs. A rock for St. Lucy’s for the second year in a row, Macy was instrumental in a second consecutive Sierra League title and another dramatic playoff run.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Sean Douglas, St. Lucy’s
Douglas coached the Regents to a CIF championship just as he did last year and while the result was the same, everything else was different. Gone was his top hitter and middle blocker from last season, but Douglas utilized a junior and sophomore in prominant roles this season. St. Lucy’s felt the weight of defending its title as evidenced by twice being swept in league play, but Douglas helped the Regents regroup in time to win an outright Sierra League championship before surging to the CIF title.

Carly DeHoog

Ontario Christian, Junior
The 6-foot-3 junior was all-CIF and the MVP of the Ambassador League after leading the Knights to the league championship. DeHoog filled the stat sheet with 311 kills, a 44.6 kill percentage, 180 digs, 48 aces and 39 blocks as Ontario Christian finished the regular season ranked eighth in CIF-SS Division 3A.

Claremont, Senior
The Sierra League co-MVP tallied 276 kills on a 41.2 kill percentage in addition to collecting 185 digs during a banner year for Claremont. In leading Claremont to the CIF-SS Division 2AA quarterfinals and a final regular season ranking of No. 6, Scott earned all-CIF honors.

St. Lucy’s, Senior
The senior led St. Lucy’s with 454 digs as the Regents won their second straight CIF-SS Division 2AA championship and second consecutive Sierra League title. Sifuentes, who has a 4.3 GPA, was named all-CIF and earned first team all-league honors to cap a spectacular high school career.

Los Osos, Sophomore
The 6-foot-2 sophomore collected a team-high 190 kills and an impressive 57.9 kill percentage for repeat Baseline League champion Los Osos. The first team all-league selection also had 41 blocks as the Grizzlies went undefeated in league for the second consecutive season.

Diamond Bar, Senior
The Hacienda League MVP posted some eye-popping statistics in leading her team to the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS Division 2A playoffs. Torres, an all-CIF selection, had 474 kills, a 44.7 percent kill percentage, 295 digs and 70 aces before the Brahmas were knocked out of the playoffs by eventual CIF champion Downey.

The senior bound for Johns Hopkins University was named the CIF-SS Division 2AA player of the year after playing a vital role in the Regents’ second straight CIF championship. The 6-foot-1 co-captain led St. Lucy’s with 325 kills and had 42 blocks in earning first team all-Sierra League honors for the league champions.
