The Valley will double its pleasure at next week’s CIF-Southern Section boys tennis divisional finals, scheduled for The Claremont Club on Wednesday. Arroyo and Rowland high schools both advanced with victories in the semifinals on Tuesday. The Knights, the top seed in Division 5 after being a finalist last season, scored a 12-6 victory over Linfield Christian and will face No. 2 Arlington at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Arroyo, which beat Arlington in the semifinals last year, lost to Segerstrom in the championship round last year.

The Knights are led by singles players Sam Ho and Phinh Tran.

Rowland is also making its second trip to the finals.

The Raiders, who lost to Cerritos in the championship match in 2008, advanced on a tiebreaker against Sage Hill on Tuesday. The teams were even at 9-9 and in games at 73-73 before Rowland won the extra round, 11-7.

The Raiders will face No. 1 Viewpoint at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. They are led by singles players Marcelo Bautista and Michael Vuong.

The area’s other semifinalist, Diamond Bar, seeking its second title in three seasons, dropped a 15-3 setback to No. 2 Brentwood.
