1:40 p.m. update: The game will be at Walnut HS, 7 p.m. on Friday. Bonita considered hosting the game at home, but the cost of bringing in extra bleachers combined with more than 50 percent of the gate going to CIF made it difficult to do financially.
8:30 a.m : I spoke with Bonita coach Eric Podley this morning before the Bearcats headed to Long Beach for the championship luncheon and he said Walnut High School is looking like the strongest possibility for Friday’s championship venue against top-seed West Covina. They hope to have Walnut locked in by the end of the day.
