San Dimas High School quarterback Josh Avila is far more than a caretaker.
Unfortunately, that’s often the stigma a Saints quarterback gets because of the run-heavy offense the team runs under head coach Bill Zernickow.
But if Friday’s CIF-Southern Section Mid-Valley Division championship game against Paraclete comes down to a passing situation in order for San Dimas to win, don’t put it past Avila to deliver when his team needs it most.
After all, he’s been doing it all season.
“We would not be here without him, that’s the bottom line,” Zernickow said of Avila. “He’s the glue that’s held everything together. He’s our best offensive football player.”
