amatsocAmat wins battle of defending champions, 3-0: Bishop Amat High School’s Jamie Peters took the long pass and then tried to outrace the speedy Marshall defenders in Thursday’s nonleague girls soccer game. Marshall goalie Jocelyn Lopez also raced out to the ball along the sidelines, about 25 yards from the goalmouth. “The goalkeeper was gutsy coming out and trying to get the ball,” Peters said. “I heard my teammates calling for the cross and I knew someone would run full speed to get the ball. I was just trying to get there and passing it to my teammates.”
