Burroughs 39, Whittier Christian 27 >> Breanna Lee had five points, Makenna Coleman had eight rebounds and Kacie Hunt had seven rebounds for the Heralds (0-2) in a loss in the La Habra Tournament.

Boys basketball
Rowland 64, West Covina 47 — Phillip Aguiniga had 20 points, Jonathan Hu added 16 points and nine rebounds and Curtis Hong had 17 points and four assists for the Raiders (2-0) in a San Dimas Tournament victory. Also contributing to Rowland’s win was Sean Nakama, who had five points and six assists.
