Sacha Byous-McConnell named volleyball coach at Etiwanda

Sacha Byous-McConnell

Sacha Byous-McConnell has been named head volleyball coach at Etiwanda.

She started her high school career at Western Christian before moving over to Los Osos from which she graduated.

The 6-foot-2 middle blocker spent her collegiate career at Marshall where she majored in exercise science and psychology.

As a senior in 2013 she was named a second-team All-Confefence USA selection. She ranked second in the league with a .377 hitting efficiency and was also second on the team with 2.67 kills and 3.03 points per set.

She is currently playing professionally in Spain so the Etiwanda staff had to conduct the interview over Skype. Her season in Spain ends in March.

“We liked her enthusiasm and her experience. She will bring just the touch that this program needs,” Etiwanda Athletic Director Dave Masucci said.

TheĀ  hire is pending school board approval which is typically just a formality.
