Who will have home-field advantage in the National League Division Series?

DENVER — The New York Mets beat the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday to clinch the National League East. At 88-67, they’re in a virtual tie with the Dodgers (87-66) for the right to host the best-of-5 National League Division Series. Unless the San Francisco Giants stage a stunning comeback in the final nine games of the season, the Dodgers will play the Mets in the NLDS.

The Dodgers play the Colorado Rockies in an hour. Depending on the outcome, they’ll either be a half-game ahead or a half-game behind the Mets after today. New York has an off-day Monday, so the annoying half-game differential will disappear then.

Game 1 of the National League Division series is Friday, October 9. Game 2 is the following day. The series will then switch coasts for Game 3 on Monday, October 12.
