Don Bosco Tech Invite (Flat, fast, 3-miles) Damien confirms its CIF ranking with a big win (77:03 – 15:25 average), led by Tom Ebiner’s 14:47 to win the senior race and the overall title. SGV in the top 10: Don Bosco (3rd – 77:27); El Rancho (5th – 1:19:25); Covina (6th – 79:37); Los Altos (7th – 79:48). On the girls side, Walnut (7th – 97:53) was the SGV’s one representative in the first 10.
* Fastback Shootout – (Short, 1.9-mile version of Mt.SAC) Daniel De La Torre of La Salle, was the top SGV boy – 2nd place overall in 9:45. La Canada soph Anna Frederich (12:36, 35th) was the top local girl. No team results so far.
* Bronco Invitational – (about 3 miles, slow footing, slightly rolling) Glendora defended its boys and girls titles in this low key opener. Tartan soph Mike Duke won the event in 15:38, top SGV girl was Glendora frosh Micaela Lamb, 6th overall in 18:55.
* Laguna Hills Invitational
* Great Cow Run (Flat, fast, 3 miles) – California (76:40 – 15:20 average) was 3rd in a very strong field, led by junior Sam Bautista (7th, 15:01) and senior Tim Guzman (10th – 15:13). Justine Romo (8th, 18:27) led the Condor girls to a 6th-place finish.
* Seaside Invitational (Flat, fast, 3 miles) Racing against some of the biggest names in SS XC, Maranatha was led by an excellent 15:30 effort from Kyle Buechert, good for 6th in the Junior race. Hannah Rae Finchamp (12th Sophs, 19:18) was the top girl.
