Bishop Amat earns No. 2 seed in Division 3: After winning the Del Rey League softball title and showing strength against a tough non-league schedule, Bishop Amat (20-4) was awarded the No. 2 seed in the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoff playoffs following the release of Monday’s divisional pairings.
All softball wild cards games are Tuesday and first round games on Thursday. All games are scheduled to start at 3:15 p.m, unless both teams agree to an alternative starting time.
Bishop Amat will host the winner between wild-card winner Paramount (8-8) and Burbank (11-16) in the first round, with Del Rio league champion California a possible second-round game for the Lancers. Bishop Amat boasts one of the section’s best pitchers in Samaria Diaz.
