The Palomares League is completely unpredictable. Nobody looks like a bonafide league favorite. But here is Fred Robledo’s predictions in order of finish
1. Glendora
2. Bonita
3. South Hills
4. Ayala
5. Diamond Bar
6. Claremont

In August, there was little doubt as to who the Palomares League favorite was.
Glendora High School’s football team, despite losing its starting quarterback to USC, was the universal choice to repeat as league champion. After all, the Tartans had another talented signal caller, a good offensive line and inherited a junior varsity team that also won the league a year ago.
Things may still play out to the preseason predictions, but the Tartans are hardly a sure bet after a nonleague schedule that has them at 1-4 heading into Friday’s Palomares League opener at Diamond Bar. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
“There’s still something in the tank, this is a brand new season,” Glendora head coach Jerry Lewallen said. “If you were to ask me at the beginning of the year, I would have said this league was wide open for anybody.
“I think for us, the team to beat is Diamond Bar. Then it’s going to be South Hills. My point is that it’s the team that you’re competing against that week. That’s our approach.”
