Our grandfather, born in 1899, lived to be 100 years old. He ran a self-sufficient farm, raising everything he needed to survive. A blacksmith shop, cold house, smoke house, chicken coupe, and leathery made sure he could support its operation. He enjoyed simple things. An evening on the porch, a tin of cold, fresh water from the well. And, his favorite snack, Moon Pies. We’ve known for a while that the spot that was Skyland Ale Works’ original home — 109 N. Maple St., Unit C, Corona — was going to be a new brewery, but were unsure on when it was going to open.

Searching for something else in Google Maps, we discovered that the new brewery — Storytellers Brewery and Meet House — had opened late last month.

It’s the city’s fourth brewery.

Hours are currently 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

However, the new brewery is still sorting some things out, so they were closed Wednesday (August 8) and will be closed today (August 9), and may or may not be open this weekend (August 10-12).
