Local JC football standouts earn weekly honors

A pair of local football players have earned player of the week honors in the Mountain Conference.

Sophomore quarterback Steven Johnson  of College of the Desert took Offensive Player of the Week honors. The Los Osos High School graduate completed  32 of 47 passes for 370 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 12 carries for 56 yards in leading the Roadrunners to the first win of the season.

On the other side of the ball it was Dougladson Subtyl  of Victor Valley named Defensive Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-4 defensive end had sacks for a total of 20 yards, 5 solo tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss for a total of 22 yards in a win against Southwestern.
